Smeeege

A versatile word originating in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. Its original meaning was to convey an environment where there is a greasy residue in the air for example in a chip shop.

The use of the word then became popular in the Manchester creative agency world and developed to be used as a substitute for any word in any sentence, where it 'felt right'.
"It's horrible in here, there is a real smeeege in the air."
