avernym

1. A term used to describe a word that falls between a synonym and an antonym of another word. (I.e., the average between two words.)
2. A term used to describe a word that is a neutral version of another word.

E.g., “Fine” would be the avernym of “great” and “awful.”
A: “I’m writing an essay and need an avernym for ‘comedic’ and ‘depressed.’
B: “How about ‘unemotional’?”
A: “I guess that works!”
