(Phrase) Trading for the lesser of two evils, or the best possible outcome of a bad situation.
When my brakes went out i was going to hit the bus, but i traded lions for lambs when i ran over the guy on the bike instead.

I was going to hit my head but i put my hands out and traded lions for lambs by scraping them up instead of getting a concussion.
