1. (a) To prepare for a weather event that never really happens, usually presented as calamitous in scope. (b) To greatly exaggerate a meteorological event.

2. (generalization) To cause undue panic, usually on an epic scale.

3. The act or instance of Hodaking.
Gary prepared for death by the oncoming monsoon, but it turned out he was just being Hodaked.
