A name for your best friend of the opposite gender when he/she asks you out. In between the stages of "friends" and "boyfriend/girlfriend".
Person 1: "Oh my god! Drew just asked me out!"
Person 2: "So he's your boyfriend ?"
Person 1: "Not yet, he just asked me out. He's my amaoe."
Person 2: "So he's your boyfriend ?"
Person 1: "Not yet, he just asked me out. He's my amaoe."
