When a story has fantastic worldbuilding and sparks the imagination with wonder and mystery, but then does absolutely nothing with that potential; opting instead for a spiritual woo/hand-wavy/religious nonsense ending, when it could've been so much more.
"Solaris looked like it was a great movie, and then it did nothing with all the potential they built up in the story."
"Yeah, that's Solaris Syndrome for ya."
