1. Used to signify a comm badge from Star Trek (the equals signs are the background lines and the slash marks are the delta symbol)
2. Used in Star Trek rpg's to denote that you are talking through a comm badge
3. Can also be written =^= with a carat sign.

1. "Hey man what r u up to right now?"

"you're the biggest loser ever"

2. (In an rpg) Captain Picard tapped his comm badge in hopes of getting some answers. =/\= Picard to Commander Riker. Commander, have you found anything yet? =/\=
