The combination of "kid" and "pet," a family pet of a couple, whether married or living together, but certainly spoiled and the center of the "parents'" universe, that is used as practice before having children.
I dislike going out with my newly married friends. All they do is talk about their kets and then leave very early to make sure they are ok.
