Pahkow

In certain Thai sects of Theravada Buddhism, the word "Pahkow" conotes a novice monk. Pahkows wear white robes, not the traditional yellow or ochre robes of a fully ordained monk.
"The monk was not yet a fully ordained Bhikkhu -- he was merely a Pahkow."
