P&Q's definitions
A person who works in one job takes a better offer (usually in politics). That falls through (candidate loses), comes back to work at original job. Takes a better offer. Yet to be determined if he will return to his original job again.
As we had the farewell party for Brian, yet again, all of us knew that he'd pull "The Plum" again and would be back again next year.
