Yankeemiento

The cultural and psychological process through which Black Great Migration descendants distance themselves from their Southern ancestral heritage, characterized by Great Migration descendants treating Southern Blackness and Southern-derived traditions as backward, pathological, uncultured, or inferior, while viewing the regional norms and identities of the areas to which their ancestors migrated as superior.

He’s so deep into Yankeemiento that he looks down on Southern Black culture, even though his grandparents were born and raised in the South. It’s interesting how accepting and respectful they are of other cultures until it’s Black Southerners.

POC (PETS OF CAUCASIANS)

A derogatory term for minorities who are not Black Americans descended from U.S. slavery; it refers to those who function as foot soldiers for white nationalists and America’s power structure, implying they are “pets.”

Man, every time I turn around, Edward Blum of the AAER is using some POC (Pets of Caucasians) in a coordinated attack against Black Americans descended from U.S. slavery.
