2. To use a presumedly Spanish (or Spanish-sounding) phrase to emphasize a point.
First year Spanish students often españolinize. They believe that adding an o to everything makes it Spanish.

When my great-grandparents fled to Cuba from Russia, the Cuban government españolinized their last name.
