Small town of around 2,000 in Northwest Forsyth County in Northwest-Central North Carolina. It sits about 10-15 minutes north of Winston-Salem and is home to the largest cigarette manufacturing plant in the world, owned by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. The main road through Tobaccoville is even named after the popular cigarette brand Doral. Tobaccoville was once just a railroad stop from North Wilkesboro and Winston-Salem. The town has a beautiful park with soccer fields, basketball courts, walking trail, tennis courts, par course, exercise area and plenty of open space. More houses have begun to spring up in the town limits of Tobaccoville because people want to escape the urban sprawl and tax burden of Winston-Salem. Tobaccoville was incorporated in the early 1990s due to an annexation attempt by the nearby city of King. The town is served by Old Richmond Elementary School, Northwest Middle School and North Forsyth High School. The town's mayor, Boyce Shore, kicked the winning field goal for North Forsyth in 1971 to win the NCHSAA 4A state football championship.
