When an author tricks the reader into loving the wrong fictional character. Made popular by Sarah J. Maas who is known for writing lovable characters and then turning the tables (e.g., Tamlin and Chaol).

Right now Rafe is my favorite, but if I get SJMed I’m gonna be pissed.
