Somewhere between a boyfriend and a fiancé. When your boyfriend gives you a ring but a wedding is not in the future. Or, you've been together so long you might as well be married.

If he’s more than a ‘boyfriend’ but not quite a fiancé. However, you must/should be wearing a ring he gave you, but you’re not sure about marriage just yet.

Used for more mature women because “boyfriend” sounds like you’re still in high school.
