Acronym meaning "Microsoft Network". Creates such programs as MSN Explorer and MSN Messenger. The service is also the 2nd largest ISP in the United States, providing an AOL like experience with (1) Actual Direct IP Internet Access and (2) Much Cleaner Interface via the MSN Explorer program. However, MSN recently left the ISP business for the Broadband business, aiming a service known as MSN Premium, providing powerful services that an ISP cannot offer. MSN *is* not an IM software, that is MSN Messenger. MSN is not a web browser, that is MSN Explorer. MSN is the division of Microsoft that creates the services and programs behind those services.
