Splash Marketing. noun. This is the effective use of contemporary social media to put forth a product or service. It is the OPPOSITE of spamming your friends on their social media to buy your items or services. Its a concise, directed approach as opposed to "HI NAME IS BLAH BLAH and I made BLAH BLAH BLAH, contact me at BLAHBLAHBLAH" posted over and over. Its a more subtle approach to building a brand by posting pictures, and letting your audience in a bit more into your personal life. When people feel more connected to you as an artist, people are more comfortable spending more money more often.
Splash marketing is a way to gently let your friends, and thus their friends know that you are available with a valuable resource and your instantly accessible when they need you.
