The term Bag Bearer is someone who "Bears" a bag.
The word bag bearer, is the person who carries THE bag. The bag is sacred to whomever is given the title "Bag Bearer". The bag bearer has to have certain abilities, such as, looking extremely emo, being very unfit and fat, smoking just to look cool, and many other "great" abilities.
