Software that (following the concept of business up front and party in the back) is poorly written and/or the database is not normalized or designed poorly, but still manages to funtion for the end user.

Windows ME would qualify as mulletware.

Beer Poncho 

The false sense of warmness that comes from drinking enough beer when it is cold outside, thus causing you to think wearing a jacket is not necessary.

It was only 40 degrees at the football game, but Jim's beer poncho kept him warm all night.
