The epitomy of coolness, along the lines of the cat's pajamas and the bee's knees. Also a scapegoat for any negative event in anyone's life. Anyhting can be overcome with black pants.

Man: "Aw, dude, I just found out I have cancer!"

Friend: "...You should've worn black pants."
