Lah originates in Bahasa Malaysia as suffix (kata imbuhan). It has been the national language of both Malaysia and Singapore.

A few examples includes: apa-lah (what), siapa-lah (who), dia-lah (it's him/her), buka-lah (open), biar-lah (let it be).
