Spikefear

A specific phobia characterized by intense discomfort, anxiety, or a defensive reflex when looking directly at a sharp object (knife, needle, pencil tip, scissors) positioned close to the eyes. Unlike aichmophobia (fear of sharp objects in general), spikefear is specifically triggered by *visual proximity* of the point to the eyeball — not by the fear of being cut.

"I can't look at a fork when it's near my face — it's not that I'm afraid of forks, it's just spikefear. My eyes start watering and I have to look away."
