Réka

Réka is a Hungarian female given name of Hun descent, originating from the word "Kreka". Possibly derived from the Turkic "Arikan" meaning "The Pure Princess". Also believed to be Gothic in origin meaning "Greek Women". In modern Hungarian, it means "River" and is usually given to girls by their mothers who believe their daughters will have a strong bond with nature. Though completely unrelated to Hungarian, the word "Reka" without the acute accent "é", in Maori means "tasty, sweet, juicy, yummy"
