Scape and Run Syndrome
A lethal, positive feedback loop in game design, in which difficulty creep is met with community criticism, which the developers deflect as a skill issue, leading to an exponential doubling-down on difficulty until a previously entertaining game devolves to the point of being too punishing to enjoy.
"So let me get this straight. They doubled Scavengers' attack damage and TRIPLED their spawn rate? Does anyone even play the bug front anymore?"
