In Hindu mythology, the wine which mortals drink to become immortal gods. It is parallel to the ambrosia and nectar of Greek Mythology. In Huxley's futuristic disutopian novel "Brave New World." the world was used for a drug that created bliss with no ill side side effects.

O Lord of Light, are shed these Soma-drops, and grass is strewn.
