Tankies are anyone who apologizes/defends/supports authoritarian/fascist/totalitarian/capitalist/generally right-wing regimes while pretending to be a communist/socialist/general leftist.

The "tankie" ideologies you commonly run into are Stalinist/"Marxist"-Leninist, Maoist, National "Socialist", National Bolshevik.
