A variant of the word due, used mainly by people who don't pronounce the u sound in a word. For example, such people pronounce news as nooz, and opportunity as opportoonity.
In the case of due, because they pronounce it as do, they spell it the same way.

Do to the H1N1 swine flu pandemic the Centers For Disease Control recommends using the Dracula sneeze technique to avoid spreading germs.
