The way YN is used today is “Young Nigga,” but only because people online ASSUMED that’s what it meant. Hence, that’s the way it’s used.

The way it was actually being used before people bastardized it, thinking they’re in touch with black culture, is “Youngin’” or “Young’n.” It is how older black men refer to young, usually black, children - teens - young adults.

The YN is actually pronounced as Young’n. You don’t say the letters out individually. Kinda like how YT is prounounced as “White” not “Why Tee”
50 Year Old Uncle Darren (speaking to 15 year old nephew, Dill): What’s good Young’n (YN)?

Dill (15 year old nephew): What’s up, uncle Darren . Glad to see you

Or

55 Year Old Man: These Young’ns out here these days don’t know what to do with themselves. They can’t behave themselves for even a minute

Other Older Man: Yup, you’re damn right! I heard one of them just shot and killed Miss Barbara Betty-Jean last night over the $20 in her purse. 🤦🏾 ♂️ mmm-mmm-mmm 🤦🏾 ♂️
