Based upon the frame story of "One Thousand and One Nights" (Arabic: كتاب ألف ليلة وليلة Kitāb 'alf layla wa-layla; Persian: هزار و یک شب Hezār-o yek šab) - a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales of the Islamic Golden Age -in English as the Arabian Nights, where Scheherazade, wife of ruler Shahryar keeps him entertained by telling him intertwined stories of adventures of his kingdom each night.
