TO AVOID SOMETHING. For example, in the song "lo que paso, pasó", it refers to the girl avoiding her man to be with someone else... the act of avoiding something. It is also a word commonly used in Puerto Rico while playing basketball.

Presea duro, tenemos que ganar este juego. "Guard hard, we need to win this game".
