When you still follow someone’s social media account but do not like/comment/retweet etc. Usually done to keep updated on someone’s life without being close or wanting to be friends with them.

Friend 1: Why do you still follow Mark?
Friend 2: I silent follow him to see where all the good clubs are…and to see who’s girl he steals next.
