Shrewsbury Finger

Originating in the late 90s outdoor party scene in the area surrounding Shrewsbury, West Shropshire the Shrewsbury Finger is when the index finger is wagged vociferously in both recognition and appreciation of a 'bangin tune' slipped in by a DJ usually specialising in drum 'n' bass, breaks or techno.

oud lad

Pronounced: 'Owd Lad'. Originally a Shrewsbury pronounciation of 'old boy' or 'old chap' the term Oud Lad has, in recent years, been used in a broader context to define an aggreeably sound Shrewsbury native.

1) "Fancy a pint oud lad?"

2) "While on holiday in Belgrade me and the wife met an oud lad."
