A frou-frou drink is usually very sweet and fruity, sometimes with less alcohol content than a more "hard liquor" drink. Frou-frou shots are much less harsh than shots of straight hard liquor. Women tend to order these types of drinks more frequently than men.
Lemon drop, Washington apple, buttery nipple, daquiris, all of these are considered frou-frou drinks.
