When you crack open your drink before entering a lecture theatre, library, or other quiet environment, in order to avoid the potentially awkward situation that could occur after cracking open your beverage in said quiet environment.
If only I'd pre-cracked my Red Bull before going into the seminar, now I can't drink it for two hours.
