Art Critic's definitions
5150 is the tag used by New York Street Artist TMNK (The Me Nobody Knows). TMNK has not only sprayed his tag 5150 on walls and buildings around the world, but incorporates it in most of his paintings.
I asked TMNK why 5150 while hanging with him in Soho: "When I was homeless I overheard the cops use the code 5150 while evacuating the park of the homeless. The cop informed me that it meant "mentally disturbed" or a person that was a danger to themself or others."
TMNK said "Society is crazy" AND "i as an artist, am mentally disturbed by racism, hatred, poverty, and injustice."
I've been following TMNKs creations online (google TMNK), and his artistic musings are brilliant. This young genius is 5150.
