"Why?"
"Because Religion! I believe that if I don't do good things, I will suffer eternal torture, so even though in my heart, I want to do bad things, and still often do, I have the moral superiority because I picked out a book to base all my beliefs on."
"What if you want to do something the book forbids?"
"That's the neat part. I can twist the book to mean whatever I want it to mean, so I can think I'm a good person, do bad shit, and control others, all in one fell swoop."
