tetragrammaton 

Tetragrammaton is the most holy name of God. It consists of only four letters "YHVH".
All knowledge of how it is pronounced is gone , destroyed by time. Many documents contain the word. It is spelt , when translated , "YHVH". Since the pronuciation will forever be a mystery , the word "Adonai" is used in its place. Only a select few knew how to say the name. Moses and King Solomon , son of David be amoung them.
