1 definition by An Ulster Scot

A "talker" in the sense of a Gaelic word meaning talk..."craic". The term was originally used to describe Scots, Irish and Ulster-Scots and -Irish (many of whom settled in the Southern US) with the "gift of gab". As these folks were almost exclusively Caucasian, it somehow (don't know) evolved into a derogatory term for them.
"and the crack (craic) was good"- from Van Morrison's "Coney Island". He's a cracker.
