-It is an expression commonly used by ilocanos to give more emphasis on phrases when used with the word "yes" or "no".

-It has no definite translation in English but can also be used like the word "then".

Without "Ngarud"

Friend-"Pummanaw ni tatang mun?(Did

your father already leave?)"

Me-"Wen(Yes)"

Friend-"Sige(Ok)"

With "Ngarud"

Friend-"Pummanaw ni tatang mun?(Did

your father already leave?)"

Me-"Wen ngarud(Yes, he did)"

Friend-"Sige ngarud(Ok then)"
