Prehearsal

A single, comprehensive preparation session where a group learns a brand-new song from scratch and polishes it for a future performance all in one sitting.

It is the hybrid of a "practice" (learning the notes) and a "rehearsal" (running through the finished piece), combined into one marathon event before the actual presentation day.

The word is a portmanteau created by blending the P and R from "Practice" directly into "Rehearsal."
Example Sentences:

"We have a prehearsal this afternoon to learn and perfect the new composition so it is completely ready for Sunday morning."

"If we just need to run through old songs, schedule a rehearsal. If I am bringing a brand-new piece for this weekend, we need a full prehearsal."
