Grit 

In Southern states, mostly (presumably) in Alabama: prescription cough syrup.

“Gucci, I got some grit if you want it.”

That’s what they call it in Alabama. Grit. They don’t call it lean. They
call it grit because it’s thick like grits and they drink it straight, like a
shot.
