The stage of a new word between its first few uses and the time that it is popularly accepted. Often during this stage, the new word will evolve and mutate definitions, parts of speech, and, occasionally, spelling.

While the term "blog" was still a wordsperm, Glenn Reynolds created his "Instapundit" website, which would soon become one of the most popular blogs on the Internet.

Wordspreading 

When a person (usually male) intentionally takes long, unecessary pauses between words thereby taking up much more time than necessary to complete a conversation or thought.

When asked "how are you?" Jerry took 3 minutes wordspreading a simple response complete with deep breaths and thoughtful looks between each and every word.

noun. a person who likes creating new words and tweaking the english language.

verb. to create a new word or tweak it.

people have been wordperving for centuries, they just haven't always been aware of the glacial speed at which languages get tweaked. nevertheless, wordperving is a legitimate and useful activity.
