unmisplace

To discover something you previously misplaced. This is different than "finding," because to find something you have to have lost it in the first place.
Mom: Did you find your new glasses?
Kid: No, I unmisplaced them. They were never lost.

Jil: Did you find the list you lost?
Duffie: It's not lost, but I can't seem to unmisplace it.
