back to friends

1) When the person you love is now back to being your friend. This happens due to multiple factors such as not being the one for each other, not having the same directions in life, having too many arguments that it breaks the both of you, changing so much that it shows they only loved the original person they fell for and not your entire living being, or simply having to let them go.

2) a song composed by the artist sombr
"Hey, you okay man?"
"No. I had to leave my forever, the person who lifted me up and made me live for life, because we were written—destined even!— as tragedy and not as a romance novel. It's depriving isn't? For the person you once called everything to be stolen by the Gods and the universe for simply not being the right pieces to fit together. He was my lungs and forced me to breathe air because I was too miserable and pathetic to want to live. I am still standing because of him, I get to watch each sunrise and sunset because of him, I get to hear my favorite composers because of him, I am still alive and feeling every single emotion because of him, yet he was still ripped from my grasps. He fell through my fingers because we didn't want the same ending despite being together for what felt like a lifetime. It's impossible for my heart, if it's still even there, to comprehend how to properly pump my blood through my veins because it ran on the adrenaline that came from being in his presence. It's ironic how we planned an entire life for us, changed for us, learned each other's mannerisms, lived for each other, only to go back to friends."

I did not come here to make friends!

A phrase that pops up in lots of competitive reality television shows such as Survivor, The Apprentise, Flavor of Love, and many, many, more. What is intresting about this phrase is that you would never say it anywhere outside of television. Even if you were in a position where you where not there to make friends you would not gain anything by anouncing it.
On a competitive reality television show

Person 1: I am going to win this and you know it!
Person 2: Oh no you won't! I will fight you if I have to! I did not come here to make friends!

I still want to be friends

A sentence used while dumping someone. What it really means is that you two will still be friends, but nothing more. In other words, no more pussy.
Sean, I feel like my feelings for you have been fading. I shouldn't have said yes to you in the first place, but I still want to be friends. That's OK right? (gives innocent smile)

I just want to be friends

A phrase that your boyfriend or girlfriend will say {normally the girlfriend says it} which means "I don't want to date you, so I think that it's best that we are just friends, instead of saying "I'm dumping you". Often said because the they don"t want to hurt your feelings but. This phrase is very commonly used as a way out of a relationship.
Carol: Listen Jack this isn't really working out. Jack: Was it something I said? Carol: No not at all but i still like you so, I just want to be friends, okay? Jack: Okay I guess. *weep*

Friends to Enemies to Lovers

A common fiction trope in which two characters, which were previously friends, fall out through an event/situation that causes them to hate one another. They have a rocky relationship for some of the trope, eventually find their way back to each other and fall in love.
