The Timalloy was a supposed Catholic gang in an area called Calton
in the east end of Glasgow in the early 1900s. This being where the name Tim
for a fan of Celtic
football club originates. Rangers fans tend to brand their rivals Celtic as 'Tims' however this isn't looked on as derogotary by fans of Celtic Football Club as they to refer to themself as 'Tims' or the 'Timalloy'.
