Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!

1. The famous saying of the crime-fighting vigilante, The Shadow.

2. The introduction from The Shadow radio program "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!" spoken by actor Frank Readick Jr., has earned a place in the American idiom. These words were accompanied by an ominous laugh and a musical theme, Camille Saint-Saëns' Le Rouet d'Omphale ("Omphale's Spinning Wheel", composed in 1872). At the end of each episode The Shadow reminded listeners that, "The weed of crime bears bitter fruit. Crime does not pay... The Shadow knows!"

Powers/Abilities: The Shadow possesses incredible physical abilities. He possesses astonishing reflexes and is an incredible marksman with a gun. He also has incredible muscular control and can slip his body through the bars of a prison cell like a contortionist or can actually distort and alter his very facial features at will by manipulating his facial muscles. He can also survive for hours without air and was also ambidexterous. He is regarded as highly experienced in various disciplines of hand to hand combat as well.
His greatest power is his ability to “cloud men’s minds”. He can hypnotize people instantly so that he can move as an invisible shadow. He can also hypnotize people so they forget things or to command them to perform certain acts (he once forced a criminal to write a detailed account of his past crimes). He is an expert in many different languages and is also a master ventriloquist (he can project or “throw” his voice).
He is also a master of disguise and has been known to impersonate others, even fooling their friends and family members. The Shadow is apparently an expert aircraft pilot and skilled in infiltration and information gathering techniques due to his experience as an intelligence agent.
He wields a pair of .45 pistols and employs a fleet of automobiles and aircraft in his various operations.

The Shadow Person

"The shadow person" refers directly to the completely random occurrence in which a person will clock a glimpse of an unidentified spooky figure which resembles that of an ominous, dark, slender-man looking entity which flashes past their peripheral vision.

This phenomenon has been widely addressed since, well, the beginning of time.

What is most scary is how everyone, even your friends and family, will most likely be able to relate to this and have experienced this several times within their lifetime, with no explanation or evidence as to how and why - even diverse groups of people around the world have described to have coincidentally seen the exact same figure

Despite the unknown presence of the shadow person, research and theories have suggested that these are “creatures of supernatural origin that appear as dark forms in the peripheries of people’s vision and disintegrate, or move between walls, when noticed.”

Some say that they appear during "phases of emotional trauma, physical reflections of grief and fear" whilst others say it is down to sleep deprivation.

Scary shit huh.
"Yo Jake what the fuck was that?"

"What are you talking about Alex?"

"The Shadow Person thing? could've sworn i saw something..."

"Man you're trippin, get some sleep bruh"

Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)

Holy Wood was a concept album released by Marilyn Manson on 2000 after the Columbine High School massacre and serves as their rebuttal at the accusations leveled at them. Their frontman has described it as "a declaration of war".

The record made numerous allegories to pop culture history to show how everyone had a participating role in Columbine: From Abraham Zapruder to the JFK Assassination, from the Beatles' White Album to the Charles Manson murders and from the Crucifixion to the Dead Rock Star celebrity worship phenomenon, Manson left no stone unturned to give america a righteous ass-kicking.

Notable themes:
1.Guns, God and Government - rightwing America's main obsession that, arguably, fucked Klebold and Harris up more than any 'rock' or 'metal' album.

2.Celebritarianism - a word coined by Manson to describe a devotion to celebrity and celebrity culture. In the album it is a religion that canonizes dead celebrities into saints in the same way the crucifixion canonized Jesus Christ into a superstar messiah and celebrity. In effect, the crucifixion is the root cause of shit like reality TV, Jersey Shore, TMZ and Harris and Klebold's desire to become famous by murdering people.

Holy Wood was never a commercial success and received mixed reviews from music journalists who said the band's artistic pretensions overshadowed the powerful lyrical indictment contained in it. Despite this, many people view it as the band's finest hour.
Kerrang Magazine: ...There has still not been as eloquent and savage a musical attack on the media and mainstream culture as Manson achieved with Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death).

Me:If you thought what Manson said about Columbine in Michael Moore's documentary was incisive, you should see how Holy Wood throws his detractors hypocrisies right back into their faces.

The Shadow

The Shadow is a collection of serialized dramas, originally in 1930s pulp novels, and then in a wide variety of media. Details of the title character have varied across various media, but he is generally depicted as a crime-fighting vigilante with psychic powers posing as a "wealthy, young man about town". One of the most famous adventure heroes of the twentieth century, The Shadow has been featured on the radio, in a long running pulp magazine series, in comic books, comic strips, television, serials, video games, and at least five motion pictures. The radio drama is well-remembered for those episodes voiced by Orson Welles.
Introduced as a mysterious radio narrator by David Chrisman, William Sweets, and Harry Engman Charlot for Street and Smith Publications, The Shadow was developed fully and transformed into a pop culture icon by pulp writer Walter B. Gibson. The character would go on to become a major influence on the subsequent evolution of comic book superheroes, in particular, Batman.
The Shadow debuted on July 31, 1930, as the mysterious narrator of the Street and Smith radio program Detective Story Hour. After gaining popularity among the show's listeners, the narrator became the star of The Shadow Magazine on April 1, 1931, a pulp series created and primarily written by the prolific Gibson.
He can also survive for hours without air and was also ambidexterous (capable of using both hands).
The Shadow wears a fire opal ring known as a girasol on his hand which he uses to focus his hypnotic abilities.
