Springlock 

A device that can lock in place using a special spring and lock mechanism. It is mostly known for "Springlock suits", which is a suit that is featured in the famous game franchise, Five Nights at Freddy's. The suit has two modes, animatronic mode and well, suit mode. During animatronic mode, the suit is basically a metal endoskeleton with the costume of any animal on it. During suit mode, the springlocks will hold the endoskeleton out, so depending on the springlock's durability, you can safely put the suit on.

We need to add springlocks to lock this mechanism.

Well a Springlock is, put simply, a device that can lock in place using a special spring and lock mechanism. These devices actually exist in real life. Springlocks can be used to firmly hold various things back in a certain position.

noun. a lock that fastens automatically by a spring.

The suit is secured by Springlocks.
