A misinterperetaion of Afro-American dialect (Shut up, lyin'). Used to express disbelief or sheer irritation.

"I just had sex with Lindsay Lohan."

"Shut up, lion."

or

"Did you translate those intelligence reports yet, Al?"

"Shut up, lion."
