A reference to young men who grow scruffy beards, wear their hair in a greasy and disheveled fashion and wear surplus military field jackets in an apparent attempt at duplicating the stereotypical media image of a traumatized war veteran.

That young twenty-something with the darting eyes and the spastic movements whom I saw sitting in front of the English department seems to be affecting quite an elaborate shell sham.

To make someone feel worthless because their lack of education or I-don't-give-a-fuckedness is contributing to the world becoming a bunch of illiterate bastards.

Dude 1: "Jake, what have you done you moron? I didn't say I resigned from the team - I said I RE-SIGNED. Now I'm out of work! I should never let you type up my contracts."
Dude 2: "Hey man, don't spell-shame me just because I come from the wrong side of the trucks."
Dude 1: "And that's another thing - STOP SLEEPING UNDER MY BACK WHEELS!"

Shellhammered

To get a crushing assignment from a boss at work, one that forces you to spend a tremendous amount of time to complete. Generally the assignment is also fairly pointless.

Dude, is Evan going to be able to come out for his birthday?

No, right before he left work he got shellhammered.

to devise a sneaky plan in taste to leave somewhere. you feel like ripping your fingers off and frying them. or baking them...just because you're there. and the people around you are total hicks.

to be ditched because you are way too weird and/or high.
