Baker Demonstration School

A private school in Illinois that really should be in Evanston but is in Wilmette. Most people think it's a snotty school because of the money, but it's actually full of (somewhat) nice people, despite the incredibly tiny population. A great elementary program, by the time you're in middle school you're ready to get the hell out and move on to a public high school - but you had a lot of fun in middle school despite it being...well, middle school. Overall, a really solid school.
Aw, my bad, man. Baker Demonstration School's boss.

Demonstration of Self-Ownership

Ok. So, let's say I don't own myself: Bring me your kid and a loaded gun... And then tell me not to shoot it in the head. If you truly own me I won't be able to pull the trigger....
Hym "Otherwise, that works as a demonstration of self-ownership."

demonstration

A term that lumps "political demonstration" (protest) and "showing something new that the audiences have never seen before" together within this same term. It reflects both the act of showing dissent and the act of showcasing innovations or ideas to an audience.
The tech fair was a demonstration of groundbreaking inventions, but the protests outside turned it into a political demonstration about corporate ethics.

Law of Demonstration

The law of demonstration is a subset of Murphy’s law and works in two ways. A functioning process will not work when demonstrated, but a broken process will work perfectly. E.g. when trying to show IT an issue your computer is having, the issue will not occur.
“I was walking a colleague through a new process I created yesterday, but it just wouldn’t work. When I ran it by myself later, it was just fine!”
“Ah, you ran into the law of demonstration states”
